Outside Reading: Post #1

I am half way into the book Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, and it is one of my favorite books, which is probably why I am reading it for the second time. In the book a girl, Bella, moves in with her dad and in this little town, that she hates, she meets someone. Having many interesting encounters with him, she starts to fall in love, with Edward, but she is also very suspicious of who he actually is. She learns later that he is a vampire, but he does not drink human blood, only animals. One day they go out on a trip to a mountain and go on a hike. After they climb back down the mountain, they both head back to Bella’s house. Bella invites Edward in, and starts to notice that he knows his way around the house very well, even though he has never been there before. Edward reveals that during the night he comes to her house and watches her, since he can’t sleep and was curious about her. He also tells her that she talks in her sleep, and while saying that she misses her home a lot, she also says his name. While learning this information she gets defensive, and Edward’ response is, “If I could dream at all, it would be about you. And I’m not ashamed of it” (Meyer 294). This confirms that Edward loves Bella back, and now that Bella is aware of that, maybe it will help their relationship grow later on in the book.
