Quarter 2: Outside Reading #4

Amir and Baba continue to misunderstand each other, and now it is starting to aggravate Amir. Everyday after school Amir and Hassan went to a tree, where Amir would read to Hassan because Hassan was illiterate. One day Amir decided to play a trick on Hassan and stray from his story and made his own story. When Hassan said it was the best story he has heard in a long time, Amir decided to write his own short story. He brings it to Baba's office, and when Amir told his dad that he wrote a short story, Baba was not thrilled and almost seemed angry about it and then left the room. Amir was angered by his father's silent response, "But right then, I wished I could open my veins and drain his cursed blood from my body" (Hosseini 32). I think that the differences between Amir and Baba will cause bigger conflicts later on the in the story.
